All Parava/10-Domains customers have been successfully migrated into Hover. Our service provides you with the best domain and email management features in the
industry. If you have any questions or are looking for further information
about this move, please read on.
On April 10, 2009, ICANN, the body governing the management of the domain name system, terminated Parava’s accreditation. Parava customers were no longer able to manage their domain name registrations via Parava. Through a competitive bid process, Tucows was selected by ICANN from a sea of registrars to assume management of the affected domain names. Tucows was selected because of our industry leading reputation, customer service capabilities, comprehensive offering and unparalled ability to ensure the transition was handled safely and securely with no loss of domains. This process was completed on Thursday May 14th, 2009 at which point former Parava customers are now able to manage their domain names via Hover.

We have received reports that Parava was accepting money for renewals and not forwarding those fees to the registry or renewing the domain. It is alleged that they would then update their whois to make it appear that the domain name had been in fact renewed. For example, http://about.hover.com/unpaidrenewals
When your domain name was transferred to Tucows and your account was created with Hover, we synchronized your expiration date in Hover with the data on file with the registry. It is possible that your name may be set to expire before you think it will because of an unpaid renewal. To prevent the expiry of your domain, please sign in to your Hover account and provide us with updated billing information so that we can renew your name automatically for you prior to its expiration. This will not add years to your domain for payments made to Parava, we can only add years for payments received through Hover.
Hover cannot honor fees paid to Parava for renewals not shown at the registry. If you believe that they owe you money for services that they did not provide, you must contact them directly. If they will not refund your money and you have paid by credit card, your credit card company should allow you file a chargeback request which will provide a full refund for the fees paid.
If you have further questions about this, please contact us and we will attempt to help you based on your specific circumstances.
We encourage you to double check the expiry date of your domain names with the registry. You can use the secure OpenSRS whois service at http://whois.opensrs.net. If you find a discrepancy, please send us an email to help@hover.com so that we may help you.
No. The only change that will be made to your domain registration is to update the registrar of record from Parava to Tucows. No other changes will be made.
What about if my domain is being hosted by Parava Networks?
We have begun to hear reports from Subscribers that are using Parava Network's hosting, that their Name Servers do not appear to be functioning. If you are using Parava for other services, including the DNS, hosting or email services, there is no guarantee that these services will continue to function. Tucows is not working with Parava to transition these services. We strongly recommend that you update your DNS settings to use Hover's DNS servers and then import your zone file into Hover's DNS. No. We will send the username and password for your Hover account to the email address for the administrative contact for your domain name.
This email will be sent in the afternoon (Eastern Time) on Thursday May 14th, 2009.
If you do not receive this email by Friday May 15th, 2009, please email us at help@hover.com. We will be happy to work with you to ensure your domain(s) is secured.

For all current Subscibers coming from Parava, our pricing will be $10/year for your first renewal. Pricing will change to our default $15/year after your first year. With Hover, this price includes ICANN fees plus additional services such as unlimited URL Forwarding ("Hovers"), complete DNS Management and WHOIS Privacy and the ability to control and edit your own WHOIS information for that one inclusive price. This alone represents a significant saving when compared to most other service providers who charge extra for these kinds of features.
(NOTE: We have sent an email to the email address of the Admin Owner of any domains this has affected today, May 25, 2009.)
Since the transfer, Neulevel, the dotBIZ registry, has informed us that hundreds of .biz domain names and their services associated with those domain names will stop as of June 01, 2009. The registry has informed us that Parava Networks may not have paid Neulevel for your purchases and renewals made for .biz domains between March01 and May 11. We have negotiated a temporary hold on the expiration of your names in order to give you extra time to renew these names. You must renew and the .biz Registry is giving you until June 01, 2009 to renew these names. Please see http://about.hover.com/renew for step-by-step instructions as to how to renew.
Yes, two.
Auto-renewal. Hover
services are available on terms similar to a cellphone plan or cable television
service. We will continue to renew your services with us until you tell us not
to. This includes services associated with domain names that you have
transferred to other registrars, away from Hover. We have thousands of
customers that use our DNS, forwarding and email services, but maintain their
domain registrations with other registrars. It would be difficult to
automatically cancel services when a registrar transfer is initiated without
inconveniencing these customers. When you Cancel your Hover services, they will
continue to function until the end of the current billing cycle, at which point,
all services will stop working and your domain will be deleted, unless you have
chosen to transfer it to a new registrar.
Hosting. Hover does not provide any hosting services. If you currently have hosting associated with your domain through any hosting company, this will remain unchanged by this move. If your hosting provider asks you to update your DNS, you can fully manage this through the Hover admin interface. Please review our step-by-step article here: http://about.hover.com/changenameservers .
