The Hover webmail system (http://mail.hover.com) contains a Spam button as illustrated below:
How does the Spam button work in Hover?
When you click on the Spam button in webmail, it sends us a report containing the spammer's email address, message headers, and the content of the message. The information we collect from the Spam button is used to improve and test updates to our spam filtering software.
What if the spammer is another Hover customer?
If we receive multiple spam complaints for a specific sender in a 24hr window, and the email address is in our system, we will temporarily suspend the account from sending email. The account will still be able to receive email and we’ll contact the sender to explain why the account was blocked and help resolve the issue.
What if my account gets reported for sending spam, but the email wasn’t really spam?
We realize that mistakes happen, and sometimes people accidentally mark legitimate email as spam. You will be contacted by our customer services team if your outgoing mail gets suspended, and we’ll help you get your account working again.
What if I have to send bulk email for my business/organization?
Our advice is to use a mass mailing service that is designed to meet your needs, such as MailChimp (see http://www.hover.com/MailChimp for details). MailChimp has free and paid mass mailing services to meet the needs of organizations that need to send bulk newsletters or other mass mailings to their customers.
